Breeders

Planika is a small cattery specialising in Smoke and Cameo Persians, a passion that began in 1995. We have always had a small number of cats and bred few litters every year, all of them having at least one Smoke parent. The cattery and cats are registered in CFA and FIFe. We have shown our Smokes in both organisations and did for a while shown them in TICA as well.The last few show seasons have been successful for us. We have shown two cats to a Divisional Winner title and two Black Smoke Persians of Planika breeding  became one-show CFA Grand Champions at the age of 8 months. We also granded the black outcross girl Luxuria in two shows in Europe. Cathy Brooke in the US granded Don Juan and Dumbledore in Premiership.

We were not able to show much in the last couple of seasons due to my studies and increased workload. If you’d like to visit my alma mater, see FDV Ljubljana. Upon completion of my undergraduate political science studies being completed, I moved on to the “American Studies” Masters programme. My studies and the expensive hobby (no comment) were supported by my wonderful clients in the real estate business and the jobs I took on as a freelance translator. In late 2008, however, I decided to accept a new job and moved to Luxembourg. Whether or rather when we will return to the show ring has not been decided.

The picture above is of sisters Mateja -left- and Alenka -right- at one of the Dutch CFA shows we attended in s’Hertogenbosch in November 2001 - I could never have shown as much without my travel companion - Thank you, Mateja! I was sorry that my sister became too busy to come along much any more, but was so thankful to have found another just as wonderful travel companion, the one and only Paolo Carnevaletti.
